Reverend Tommy Koffin Signature Gold Metal Flake
This is a very cool signature model from Reverend. Tommy and his band the Koffin Kats have played over 2000 shows in 12 years around the world. As a long time Reverend player they thought it about time he got a signature model. It's essentially a Kingbolt with a reverse headstock neck and loaded with Railhammer Chisel humbuckers. The body is also recessed behind the tremolo to allow more backward pull on the trem. This thing is ready to rock.
It also features a load of upgrades that Reverend have been adding to their guitars over the past few years: engraved neck and jack plates, triple string tree, upgraded Polyester capacitors and a Boneite nut. The excellent Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo features another new Joe Naylor invention, the Vari-Claw. The Vari-Claw allows you to easily switch between 3 springs in the middle hooks of the claw for a firm feel, or 2 springs on the outside recessed hooks of the claw for a soft feel, with little or no adjustment to the claw itself. You can really go wild with the trem and tuning is kept incredibly stable. This is thanks in part to the locking tuners and slippery Boneite nut.
Railhammer Chisel humbuckers
Aggressive and thick, but with superb clarity, the Chisel sets a new standard for heavy rock and metal. Unlike the competition, you can dial in a tight clear tone on the wound strings without the plain strings sounding thin or sterile. And the Chisel has loads of character: rich in harmonics, touch sensitive, and armed with an upper-mid attack that cuts like a knife. If you want your riffs to be heard loud and clear, this is your tool. And like all Railhammers, the extra clarity on the wound strings means they also work great with low tuned guitars. The neck humbucker doesn't turn to mush when you dig in hard, even with chords. They are perfectly balanced together and can be completely revoiced with Reverend's Bass Contour control. This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil and anything in-between.
Reverend have always made great sparkle finishes and it's nice to see this new signature model with it's stunning Gold Flake painted top. The Reverend Tommy Koffin Signature Gold Metal Flake performs out of this world and has the looks to match.
