Riffing off the foundation of Ryan’s favourite Reverend model, the Jetstream 390, his signature guitar has been modded with a cool reverse headstock, gold hardware and push / pull tone control, allowing the neck and bridge pickups to be switch on or off independently of the 5-way switch. Ryan Malicsi began playing with Hot Mulligan in 2016, when he met fellow signature artist Chris Freeman and solidified the band’s noodle-forward guitar duo. Equipped with capos and sunglasses, the pair bring their own brand of open-tuning emo riffs to pop punk. With a discography that now spans a decade and multiple full-length records, Hot Mulligan have toured their way from basements in Michigan to theaters and arenas worldwide.

When Ryan and Reverend sat down to set the specs for his new Reverend signature, the obvious basis was his trusted gigging Jetstream 390. The Korina body, bolt-on maple neck, trio of hot 9A5 P90 pickups and Wilkinson tremolo provided the foundation, to which Ryan added some modifications of his own. Stylistically, a duo of dazzling finishes - White Gold Sparkle and Mulberry Mist - have been combined with Gold Hardware, for an eye-catching look to match the band’s on-stage persona.

Then, as with bandmate Chris Freeman’s signature Reverend, a reverse headstock was spec’d for maximum sass! Control changes were minimal compared to the Jetstream 390, with just a push / pull pot added to the tone control. This allows the neck and bridge pickups to be switched on regardless of the 5-way pickup selector position. All three pickups on at once? This guitar can do it!
