The Reverend Rick Vito Soulshaker is here presented in the standout colour scheme of Orchid Pink with custom checkerboard binding and Ebony fretboard. Vito has a long-standing relationship with Reverend - which has given rise to some stunning guitars - but the Soulshaker takes it to another level. Two of Reverend’s hot-rodded HA5 humbucker pickups are fitted, and have been emblazoned with Rick’s deco triangle motif. A modded Bigsby trem allows a range of Vibrato techniques to be executed with intuition and supreme smoothness. Overall, this guitar is perfect for the Grammy-nominated guitarist’s masterful playing.

Rick Vito is best known the guitarist who so capably picked up Lindsay Buckingham’s mantle when the famed Fleetwood Mac guitarist left the band in the late ‘80s. His solo career took him to new heights, including a Grammy nomination for his participation with Mick Fleetwood in the blues record Blue Again!. A guitarist who never rests on his laurels, adapting capably to everything from slide guitar to rock, Rick needed a guitar equal to his abilities. Enter the Reverend Rick Vito Soulshaker.

Chambered Korina body with 3-piece Korina Set-Neck

As with all Reverend guitars, the Rick Vito Soul Shaker in Orchid Pink starts with the solid foundation of a Korina body, here topped with a piece of solid maple for increased snap. Highly resonant and extremely consistent, Korina is the perfect tonewood. For the Soulshaker, its existing lightweight properties have been augmented thanks to strategic chambers in the body. The three-piece Korina neck is set into the body and fitted with a single-action truss rod for lighter weight and improved balance. This combination of lightness and balance results in a guitar which is highly rewarding to play over long periods, and eliminates the frustration many slide players feel when performing on a neck-heavy guitar. Also improving playability is the Satin-finished neck, which simply plays like butter.

Twin HA5 Humbuckers with Modded Bigsby B-50 Vibrato

Mounted to the Korina / Maple body are two of Reverend’s outstanding HA5 humbucker pickups. These Alnico 5 magnet humbuckers are designed to maintain the character of vintage PAF style units, while improving their punch, drive, warmth and clarity. The bridge is wound slightly hotter than vintage, allowing it to crank an amp into superb overdrive with ease. The neck is underwound, emphasising warmth and clarity.

These outstanding pickups are matched with Reverend’s modded Bigsby Trem system, which is fitted with Reverend’s “secret Bigsby weapon”: the Reverend soft-touch spring. This seamingly innocuous update has become one of our most popular aftermarket items for owners of non-Reverend Bigsby-equipped guitars. Giving the vibrato an immediately broken-in feel, this meticulously-tuned little sping transforms the Soulshaker’s Vibrato to feel far more natural and intuitive than when it left the factory. Reverend didn’t stop there, though, also fitting their acclaimed roller bridge system, allowing the Bigsby to operate with supreme smoothness, while maintaining perfect intonation and eliminating string “pings”.

A unique quality of Reverend artist models is that they are identical to the guitars played by the artists themselves. This is due in no small part to the quality of the components and hardware fitted, from the pin-lock Reverend tuners, to the 10% pots and caps (built to much higher tolerances than standard). Other unique features include Reverend’s custom steel jack plate with four mounting screws and a Pure Tone Jack socket. The former results in much-improved durability and resistance to tearing out of the body, while the latter features dual contacts for improved grip, signal and reliability.
