MCM Exclusive Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider S in Oceanside Green with Dark Roasted Maple fretboard
This might look like an ordinary solid body electric guitar but don't be fooled! The Merchant City Exclusive Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider S in Oceanside Green features a chambered korina body. Korina is a very acoustically resonant wood, usually found on boutique instruments. The chambering serves to both add lightness and open up the tone, resulting in a full-sounding guitar which is comfortable to play for hours on stage.
Bolted on to the body is a stunning Dark Roasted Maple neck. Kiln dried to remove most of the moisture, Roasted Maple results in improved stability and increased resonance. Cosmetically, the Darker Roast has a much more sultry look, which, combines with the Rosewood Fretboard, gives this Eastsider S a very upmarket aesthetic. The fretboard also has a compound radius, ranging from ten to fourteen inches. The benefits include more comfort at the bottom, combined with low action at the top for more intuitive string bends.
Premium hardware, outstanding pickups, and push/pull tone control
The Merchant City Music exclusive Oceanside Green Reverend Eastsider S is capable of a wide range of sounds - markedly more than you would normally find on an instrument of this style. This is down to the inclusion of a middle pickup and some clever switching. The three pickups are designed in house by Joe Naylor, Reverend’s chief instrument designer and the original founder of Reverend Guitars. The Talnico bridge pickup offers early ’50s tone for a traditional but thicker twang that’s never harsh. The Salnico middle and neck pickups output traditional Strat tone but with more warmth. The middle pickup is RWRP for hum-cancelling when used with bridge or neck pickups, while a push/pull tone knob switches on both the neck and bridge pickups together, adding to the guitar’s versatility.
Other excellent hardware includes a Wilkinson Trem, featuring saddles that lock to the baseplate once adjusted for rock solid intonation (we’d say as good as a hard tail!). The swing arm also has adjustable tension, and a push-in/no freeplay arm. Combined with Revrend’s boneite nut and pin-lock tuners, it stays in tune even under aggressive whammy action.
