Reverend Double Agent W in Medieval Red with Roasted Maple neck and fingerboard
A quick review of the features this guitar has to offer will tell you it's different. Using korina to build an offset body is a great decision. A wood normally reserved for boutique instruments it is very lively sounding. The Medieval Red finish on the body looks stunning, and is set off perfectly by the Pearloid Pickguard pickguard. The Reverend Double Agent W features a Roasted Maple neck and fretboard. The medium oval profile is very comfortable. It features a twelve inch radius and medium jumbo frets. Roasted Maple is normally used on custom shop and high-end boutique built guitars. Reverend have brought this material to a price bracket never seen before. The Roasted Maple that Reverend have used has been kiln dried to remove most of the moisture. This results in a neck resistant to temperature and humidity. The advantages also include stability and increased resonance.
HA5 Bridge Humbucker, 9A5 Neck and Wilkinson Tremolo.
The Reverend Double Agent gets its name from its pickup configuration. Essentially two different guitars in one. You get a HA5 Humbucker in the bridge position. In the neck is a 9A5 P90. This pickup configuration offers a wide spread of sounds. The HA5 with alnico 5 magnet is warm but wound a little hotter than a Vintage PAF. It marries up well with the 9A5 in the neck, which offers that characteristic fat P90 sound, with a cleaner edge. It sounds warmer than a single coil though with more cut than a humbucker. Great for everything from blues to rock to jazz. It conjunction with switching and the Bass Contour knob this is a very capable instrument. The W after Double Agent stands for Wilkinson. The excellent Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo features another new Joe Naylor invention, the Vari-Claw. The Vari-Claw allows you to easily switch between 3 springs in the middle hooks of the claw for a firm feel, or 2 springs on the outside recessed hooks of the claw for a soft feel, with little or no adjustment to the claw itself. You can really go wild with the trem and tuning is kept incredibly stable. This is thanks in part to the locking tuners and slippery Boneite nut.
