The mandola is the big brother to the mandolin, and is popular in mandolin orchestras, as well as Italian and Irish folk music. The Pilgrim Celtic Dawn model features all solid wood construction (spruce top with maple back and sides), resulting in superb power, projection and clarity. The ebony and bone used on the bridge further contribute to the instrument's excellent resonance and response.
