Larrivee Simple-6 OM Silver Oak Summer Sunset Burst

After several successful limited runs of the Simple-6 and its depression-era design, Larrivee have integrated this line as a dedicated series. Continuing Jean Larrivée's vision to build high-end guitars in America that are affordable to working musicians, the Simple 6 is Larrivee’s most affordable entry-level line, featuring all-solid wood, scalloped hybrid bracing, hand-fit dovetail neck joint, and built solely in America.

This special Simple-6 OM model has been specced by the UK Larrivee distributor with Silver Oak back and sides. Jean Larrivee is particularly fond of this tonewood for its “rounded attack, transient, excellent balance” and “very transparent midrange register”. We have to agree with him: it is “very pleasing to the ear!”. Its shimmering figuring makes it an equally rich feast for the eyes.

This particular guitar has additionally been upgraded with the outstanding LR Baggs EAS pickup system. This pickup has impressive body sensitivity, warmth, and articulation in a streamlined design. The system includes an Element pickup, all-discrete electronics, and a soundhole-mounted volume control.

Other specs are as the standard Simple-6 OM: solid spruce top, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge, plus Larrivee’s Scalloped Hybrid bracing for beautifully open tone. The Satin Summer Sunset Burst finish and simple, no-binding look evokes the seminal ‘30s era of acoustic guitar design; a pleasing reminder that frills aren’t essential to true quality.
