This OM sized acoustic is stunning in both looks and sound. The Larrivee OM-03M while perhaps a little understated has some beautiful woods and build quality. The Mahogany used all round has beautiful grain and is highlighted by Maple binding and four-ply black and white purfling around the top and back. It is very well done and screams quality. The woods and build quality really speak for themselves. There is very little to complain about with the Larrivee OM03 M Mahogany. The all solid Mahogany construction sounds delightful. Crisp, articulate and wonderfully balanced. It lends itself well to both finger style and strumming. The single piece Mahogany neck has been fitted with a dark Ebony fingerboard and features a very comfortable profile. The 12th fret neck join is another reason that this guitar sounds so good. By joining the neck to the body at the 12th fret the bridge is moved further back. This makes the top resonate much more than normal and is Jean Larrivee's tonal preference. The Larrivee OM03 Mahogany has been very well designed with a lot of attention to detail. The fingerboard has a compound radius which along with the spacious string spacing allows for a comfortable action and plenty of space to play right up the neck.
