The LAG Tramontane HyVibe 20 is the mid-range model in the HyVibe range, set apart by the premium gloss finish and inclusion of a high quality HyVibe-branded hard case. Its acoustic tone reflects the use of Engelmann Spruce and Ovankol for the tone woods, with a bright, complex voice. The Dreadnought body with cutaway provides great acoustic projection and unhindered access to the higher frets. Lag’s thin-profile neck makes the Tramontane HyVibe 20 very intuitive and easy to play.

We can’t fault Lag’s build quality, with lovely fretwork and fine fit and finish. Lag have put a lot of work into their production process over the past few years, overseen by French master luthier Maurice Dupont, and it really shows.

About the Lag HyVibe System

Unobtrusively sitting where you’d usually find an electro-acoustic’s preamp, you’ll find the HyVibe control panel. This gives you access to Lag’s unique and unprecedented HyVibe system. The HyVibe System uses a vibration control system composed of actuators, a high-speed processor, and a Bluetooth module to turn The Lag Tramontane HyVibe 20 into its own amplifier, connected speaker, recorder, looper, and multi-effect processor.

Though the range of functionality might be daunting at first, the controls are very intuitive. You’ll find yourself recording loops and playing with effects (all amplified through the guitar’s body, remember!) in no time at all. It’s dead easy to connect your phone to the bluetooth and play along with your favourite song, too. Everything you do on the guitar can also be outputted through your amp or PA system.

Also included is an input jack socket, allowing external pedals, etc. to be plugged into the HyVibe System. The input and output jacks can be used together to run external devices such as fx pedals, sound cards, and PC’s through the guitar.

For those who simply want a usable electro-acoustic guitar, the Lag TLHV20DCE performs this function too, the inbuilt rechargeable battery providing a greater level of usability than any other preamp system currently available. Practical features naturally include a built-in tuner, though the metronome is not something you’ll find elsewhere!

Any scepticism an acoustic traditionalist might have about the Lag Tramontane HyVibe 20 dissipates upon use.
