Your frets will start to become pitted fairly quickly. The guitar may then need a fret dress or worse, a re-fret! How often you change your guitar strings depends on how often you play and how corrosive your sweat is! Some guitarists sweat more than others. If you really are going through a set quickly, within a day or so, it might be worth looking at coated strings. They are waterproofed to last longer.
