Guitar Effects

Guitar Effects can be used to modify the tone, pitch, or sound of your instrument. These are available as effects pedals, built into guitar amplifiers, guitar amplifier simulation software, and rack-mount pre-amplifiers or multi effects processors. Probably the most popular and easy to use electric guitar effects are stomp box pedals. Usually offering a single effect in a foot switch-able enclosure. They tend to be easy to use, sound great but can be expensive when compared to multi effects processors. Multi effects generally give the guitar player most effects such as overdrive, distortion, delay, reverb, modulation, loop pedal and more! They usually take up less floor space than the equivalent number of single pedals. The down side? They are not quite so straight forward to set up and use. Sometimes they can sound a little bit digitally processed. Cheaper multi effects processors such as the Zoom G1N are a great introduction to the world of electric guitar effects at a very reasonable price. The mid range Zoom processors such as the G3X deliver high quality amp simulations, digital effects and a USB interface for your computer. There are multiple effects processors for bass and acoustic guitar also.
