The Gordon Smith Geist Launch Edition is a classic Super Strat, here finished in a Flare burst. This is a very light guitar, weighing in at less than 7lbs and featuring a solid flame maple cap, roasted flame maple neck and roasted flame maple fingerboard, with a slightly thinner (slimmer) profile 24-fret neck. Stainless Steel frets, Gotoh locking tuners and handwound pickups ensure the hardware meets the standards of the stunning build quality.

Supplied in a GS Anniversary Tweed case, the Gordon Smith Geist Launch Edition Flare is now available from Merchant City Music, online and in our Glasgow store. Gordon Smith’s newly-launched Geist is a modern take on familiar style, but hand built in England to an incredible standard, with the demands of today's progressive guitarist in mind. There isn’t an aspect of this guitar which isn’t just right, from the weight and balance when you pick it up, to the effortless play-ability and smooth Gotoh tremolo. The feel of the neck finish is akin to the best that any high end guitar brand produces, leaving any new owner feeling smug that they have paid less for much, much more!

The specs speak for themselves, from the solid flame maple body cap - separated from the highly resonant and lightweight Obeche body by a thin Black Poplar pinstripe layer - to the stainless frets, Gotoh locking tuners, hand wound Geist humbuckers (with compensated split) and roasted maple neck. It is testament to the time and attention put into GS’s new UK production facility that the real standout feature is the build quality. It’s really impossible to fault this guitar! The closer you look, the more you find pleasing little details, like the recessed half moon cut on the headstock, or the pinstripe between the scrape-revealed body binding and the lightweight Obeche body wood.

Below the surface, a premium CTS / Switchcraft wiring loom ensures reliability and quality of tone, allowing full enjoyment of the stunning handwound humbucking pickups (both individually coil split-able).
