Gordon Smith Gatsby in Shell Pink with Roasted Maple neck
The Gordon Smith Gatsby marks a signicant milestone in the Gordon Smith journey. Since coming under new ownership, the guitars produced by this UK electric guitar manufacturer have reached new levels of quality and consistency, while maintaining their amazing value. The Gatsby was recently launched as a brand new offset model, building on this success, while pulling on the decades-long experience the brand has to offer.
The Gatsby has an immediate “rightness” to its look, managing to be both familiar and unique at the same time. The eye is immediately drawn to that “half moon” twin tone headstock with body-matching upper and transparent lower half, allowing the roasted maple neck to show through. The 25.5” scale imbues the guitar with an increased twang, compared to the shorter scale of other Gordon Smith models, while the twin P90 pickups thicken up the output.
Gordon smith have fitted the Gatsby with a classic vibrato system, tamed with a low profile roller bridge to eliminate string “pings”. Brass bridge rollers complement the signature 42mm Gordon Smith Brass nut, increasing sustain and improving resonance transfer. Quality Gotoh SG381 tuners provide silky smooth and highly accurate tuning adjustments, reinforcing the quality feel of the whole instrument.
