Beautifully made in Japan, the Fender MIJ Troublemaker Telecaster is here presented in Crimson Red, with Black pickguard and “Witch Hat” control knobs. It would be hard for this guitar to break the Tele mould more than it already has: Mahogany body and neck; twin Modern Modified Humbucking Type II pickups (with volume and tone controls for each); ‘70s-style Strat headstock; and bound body. It is outrageous and we love it! Supplied in a padded Fender gig bag.

Fender MIJ Troublemaker Telecaster in Crimson Red - Mahogany Body and Neck, Twin Modern Modified Humbucking Type II pickups
Fender MIJ models are known for breaking the mould, a reputation perfectly exemplified by this Fender MIJ Troublemaker Telecaster. Built with all the care for which Fender’s Japanese craftsmen are known, this model starts in familiar territory, but quickly charts its own exciting course - a Troublemaker indeed!
The Tele’s well loved silhouette is the foundation, but rather than being made from the traditional Ash or Alder, it has been carved from solid Mahogany, known for its mid-range growl and sustain. The darker-than-usual headstock colour is your clue that the neck, too, is mahogany. And do we even need to mention that outrageous ‘70s-style Stratocaster headstock shape!
Things are also far from normal below the surface. Two Modern Modified Humbucking Type II pickups provide an altogether heavier soundscape compared to your average Tele. In addition to the standard 3-way switch, these are controlled via four “Witch Hat” knobs, allowing you to individually control each pickup’s volume and tone. Finally, a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Adjusto-Matic Bridge and Anchored-Tailpiece provide rock solid intonation and stability. If you’re ready to make trouble, you’ve found your match!
