The Limited Edition Fender Made in Japan Hybrid Telecaster Custom is presented in Indigo with Roasted Maple neck and fretboard. This Japan-only limited run model has been made available to the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region in a batch of just 50 instruments - of which we have managed to obtain 2! Fitted with a Vintage-Style Single-Coil Tele pickup in the bridge position and Wide Range Humbucker in the bridge, this guitar is capable of much heavier sounds than the Tele tradition. Limited Edition Fender Made in Japan Hybrid Telecaster Custom in Indigo with Roasted Maple Neck

There’s always a sense of the forbidden fruit with Fender’s Japanese-made instruments. Only a few have been built with the European market in mind; even fewer are released to Europe, having been built as production models for the Japanese market only; and rarest of all are models such as this: Japanese market-only limited editions, released to the EMEA in very small, one-off batches.

This Limited Edition Fender MIJ Hybrid Telecaster Custom is finished in an indigo colour inspired by the traditional colour of Japan. The rich caramel-coloured Roasted Maple neck looks and feels stunning, with a satin finish to the back. Roasted Maple also has practical benefits, being less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity. The result is improved intonation, resonance and tuning stability.

Built with all the attention-to-detail for which Fender’s Japanese craftspeople are renowned, this MIJ Tele Custom provides player-friendly performance thanks to the modern specs of the Hybrid series, including 9.5” radius fretboard and “U”-shaped neck. By combining the vintage-style single-coil bridge pickup with a fat-sounding Wide Range humbucking neck pickup, Fender added some beef to the traditional Tele® bite.

A vintage-style Tele® bridge with three chrome barrel saddles gives this Telecaster its characteristic twang, while Vintage-Style Locking tuning machines offer period-correct aesthetics, classic feel and rock-solid tuning stability. Other features include three-bolt neck plate, chrome hardware and vintage-style strap buttons.
