Fender MIJ Traditional II Mustang Limited Edition White Pearl
For those in the know, Fender’s MIJ models are the Lexus to the Cadillac of the company’s US-made models. It feels particularly appropriate for a Mustang to be Made In Japan, given Japan’s special affinity with this model. Originally made as a cheaper guitar for students, the Mustang was adopted by a new generation of rockers, who appreciated its combination of smaller physical size and rich, fun tones.
This Limited Edition MIJ Mustang features a standout colour scheme, with the White Pearl body and headstock complemented by a Black pickguard and dark Rosewood fretboard. Snarling tone is guaranteed by the twin Single-Coil Mustang pickups - controlled via two phase slider switches. A hard bone nut ensures that no tone is lost, directing all string vibrations into the neck, body and, ultimately, pickups.
The slightly fatter-than-standard “U”-shaped neck gives you something to really grip onto as you navigate the more modern 9.5"" radius fretboard. Though the body is smaller than a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, this Mustang still feels substantial for the player. The 24” scale length reduces the stretch between each of the 22 frets, meaning it stays comfortable to play, even if you have smaller hands.
With its stunning pearl finish, world class build quality and highly limited build numbers, we don’t anticipate this Fender MIJ Traditional II Mustang sticking around for long!
