The Fender CD60SCE’s sound quality is really influenced by the all-mahogany construction. Mahogany is commonly used as a back and sides wood, usually combined with Spruce for the soundboard. When it is used for top, back and sides of a guitar, however, it elicits a lovely warm tonality, endearing this tone wood combination to an increasing number of musicians. Fender have also made sure that the top wood is solid, rather than laminate, ensuring that the guitar continues to sound good over a longer period of time, and will, in fact, improve with age and playing.
