The Cort Gold-Edge is a stunning Limited Edition electro acoustic guitar with a solid torrefied Sitka Spruce top and solid Flamed Myrtlewood back and sides. Beautifully finished in natural gloss, this guitar features three bevels to the body, resulting in improved comfort and playability. Jet black Ebony is used for the fretboard, bridge and bridge pins, while the nut and saddle are hewn from bone for optimum resonance transfer. An LR Baggs Anthem system - utilising the Baggs TruMic pickup - ensures high end amplified performance. Supplied in a Hard Case.

With dimensions of 117mm (4 5/8") body depth, upper bout width at 292mm (11 1/2") and lower bout width at 405mm(16"), the Gold Edge’s Auditorium body size sits perfectly between the large Dreadnought and the more intimate Grand Concert. This makes the Auditorium body ideal for both strumming/flatpicking as well as fingerstyle playing - perfect for the versatile acoustic player who prefers to have one guitar to cover a variety of sounds and playing styles.

The triple bevel cut on the Cort Gold-Edge Limited Edition was designed to give maximum playing comfort. Carefully calculated bevels are applied to three strategic areas - armrest, cutaway, and ribrest - ensuring that the areas where the guitar touches the player’s body are as ergonomically shaped as possible. The bevels are perfectly placed to not only provide comfort but to retain the acoustic properties of the body.

Torrefied Solid Spruce top and Flamed Myrtlewood back and sides

A vintage instrument will often provide the holy grail of acoustic guitar tone, thanks to the process of maturing over time. The soundboard cures and opens up as the years pass, unleashing a unique tonal quality very difficult to achieve in new instruments - until now! Using a special process dubbed ATV (Aged To Vintage) Cort treats the solid sitka spruce top to give it that big and open tone of a decades-old, highly-sought-after acoustic. This torrefaction process delivers stunning mature tone right out of the box.

Fitting for a Limited Edition, the back and sides are of Master Grade solid Myrtlewood for a bright yet smooth and warm sound. Clear and powerful, it emphasises the high-mids for excellent articulation. Myrtlewood’s figuring gets better and better with higher grades and this model features the highest grade possible.

LR Baggs Anthem Pickup/Preamp system

The L.R. Baggs® Anthem pickup/preamp system delivers the pure acoustic vibrations of the instrument to the amplifier and PA without any colouration. Utilising the unique Baggs TruMic pickup, this system produces what could be the most natural sound on the market. Undesirable feedback can also be easily and effectively controlled through minimalistic controls that do not interfere with the look of the instrument.

DoubleLock Neck Joint and Walnut-reinforced Mahogany Neck

The connection between a guitar’s neck and body is another key factor for great sound. On the Gold, the starting point is a tight fitting traditional dovetail neck joint, which is then reinforced by adding a bolt. This DoubleLock neck joint maximizes the transfer of tone and enhances resonance. The Mahogany neck itself has been reinforced using two special Walnut inserts, installed to add stability while still retaining the natural properties of wood.
