Seymour Duncan history
Seymour Duncan learned his trade from the very best in the business. Famed jazz guitarist Les Paul, who was also responsible for many electric guitar innovations was an influence. The inventor of the Humbucker pickup, Seth Lover, then became his mentor. Seymour Duncan spent some time working in London. There he worked with some of the most famous musicians of the day. These included Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton no less! He was fixing their guitars and working to improve their pickups. Seymour Duncan then relocated to California where he started up a pickup rewinding business. It became incredibly popular and together with his wife they started to produce their own guitar pickups. They started with humbuckers and single coils for Stratocasters and Telecasters. Today Seymour Duncan Pickups produce an extensive catalogue for electric, acoustic and bass guitar.
Seymour Duncan Pickups and other guitar products
These days Seymour Duncan Pickups have a massive range of guitar products. They still build their original early designs such as the JB Humbucker and 59 PAF. Excellent vintage sounds. More modern styles of music are catered for too. Check out the high output Blackouts. They also produce a comprehensive range of single coil sized pickups. These include traditional single coils and mini humbuckers. With the growing popularity of seven and eight string guitars Seymour Duncan pickups now produce an extensive range of products to cater. Guitar effects pedals, designed to work in conjunction with their pickups are also growing in popularity. The Seymour Duncan Pickups Custom shop produce a number of specialist products.
