In terms of tonewoods, each Breedlove Solo acoustic guitar is fitted with a red cedar top, backed with African ovangkol. Ovangkol is a fantastic alternative to Rosewood, exhibiting similar tonal characteristics while being much more sustainable. African ebony is used for the fretboard and bridge, resulting in superior tonal transfer, further enhanced by the bone nut and saddle. Solo Series guitars are also fitted with Breedlove's bridge truss system, which relieves pressure on the soundboard and results in improved resonance. Breedlove's pinless bridge is also a groundbreaking feature, eliminating bridge pin holes for an uncompromised soundboard.

Breedlove Solo guitars each come fitted with a high quality LR Baggs Element Active pickup system, resulting in a level of amplified sound quality which matches that experienced by the player.
