Breedlove Guitars is a small acoustic guitar company based in Oregon, USA. Since its birth in the early '90s, it has garnered a following of guitarists who have been allured by the attention to detail and innovation exhibited by its luthiers. We've visited their factory in Bend, Oregon and came away deeply impressed; this is a company which is light on its feet and thinks ahead of the curve in terms of sustainability, materials and guitar engineering.

The Breedlove Legacy Series could be viewed as a production run of the custom guitars Breedlove's luthiers would make, pulling on all their knowledge of tonewoods and body styles. The series is a melting pot of expert ideas, each guitar producing revelatory nuances of tonal colour: Adirondack spruce and cocobolo combined with the small-bodied Concertina; Sinker Redwood and East Indian rosewood combined with the original Breedlove Concert body; Adirondack spruce and koa combined with the big Concerto body, etc. Being Breedlove's 'all out' production series, each Legacy instrument receives an extra level of attention to detail which is really palpable to the discerning guitarist.

Breedlove Legacy Series acoustic guitars are designed to stand out aesthetically, without being garish. Abalone appointments are limited to the top of the body, the rosette, the 12th-fret inlay and the headstock nameplate. Gotoh tuners are used for smoothness and longevity. In terms of electronics, Breedlove has opted for the world-class LR Baggs Anthem system on the Legacy Series. This system combines a unique under-saddle microphone - tuned and placed to practically eliminate feedback and 'boom' - with a piezo pickup, which adds low end without being obtrusive. The piezo plays second fiddle to the mic, a feature unique to the Baggs Anthem system, resulting in the most natural onboard acoustic guitar amplification system you're likely to experience.
