Originally launched in 1946 as a project to amplify the upright bass, Ampeg has since become a legendary name among bass guitar players. From creating the standard bass combo amp of the 60s and 70s, to incorporating reverb into an amplifier for the first time, Ampeg has been there throughout the development of popular music. The 300 Watt Ampeg SVT shaped today’s recognisable bass sound, (giving many a concert-goer tinitis in the the process!).
