Boss are known for their excellent build quality and well thought out effects. The BOSS ME-20B is no exception. Jam packed with a great range of features specifically for bass guitarists. The ME20B works like a bunch of stomp boxes is a single enclosure. The advantage of that is that it is much smaller. For the price it gives you a massive selection of effects too. To get the same number of single stomp boxes would cost a small fortune. As it has trailered towards bassists you have specific effects. Compressonr, Wah, Distortions, Modulation all work for the bass. With the memory function you can store up to 30 sounds. The BOSS ME-20B will run on batteries or mains. To use it with mains you will need to purchase a power supply separately. It does include batteries however.
