The re-imagined Akai APC40 Mk2 delivers a better work flow and slimmer, sleeker design. It allows you to quickly launch clips directly from Ableton. This is done using a 5x8 grid. The RGB lighting lets you know where you are. Each button feature three different status colours. These are Loaded, Playing & Recording. No need to look at a computer screen to know what is happening. You can also assign up to eight device control knobs. They light up to give you visual feedback. The nine faders are arranged to let you control each track with ease. Integration with Ableton is excellent straight out of the box. The Akai APC40 MKII is mapped for Live 9.1.3 and later. This makes it easy to get up and running. It works on a one on one basis with the software. The controls can be re-signed on the fly. Using USB for power you don't need an external PSU. It supports Plug and Play technology. Bundled in with the AKAI APC40 is a wealth of excellent software. Needless to say it comes with Ableton Live Lite. Also included is Puremagnetik Effect Racks, Hybrid 3 by AIR Music Tech, SONiVOX Twist and Prime Loops sample packs.
